You should inject Mounjaro once a week, on the same day each week. The recommended starting dose is 0.25 mg injected under the skin. It is recommended to increase the dose every 4 weeks until you are at the full dose of 2.4 mg. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's less than 3 days until your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take the next one on your usual day. If you take too much Mounjaro, seek medical advice immediately.

Dosage schedule:
Weeks 1–4: 2.5 mg
Weeks 5–8: 5 mg
Weeks 9–12: 7.5 mg
Weeks 13–16: 10 mg

Week 20+: 15 mg (maintenance)
Each injection of Mounjaro contains the active ingredient tirzepatide in pre-measured doses, ranging from 2.5 mg to 15 mg, depending on the prescription. Additional components include sodium chloride, water for injection, and stabilizing agents to ensure the medication’s effectiveness and safety.
Like any medication, Mounjaro may cause side effects. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and decreased appetite. These symptoms often diminish as your body adjusts to the medication. Serious side effects are rare but may include pancreatitis, severe allergic reactions, or low blood sugar. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
Mounjaro is not suitable for everyone. Avoid using this medication if you have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2, or are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients. Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of pancreatitis or severe gastrointestinal issues. Regular monitoring of your blood sugar levels is essential while using Mounjaro.
